About Mosaic Ensemble’s founder - Dr Julia Salerno

Julia has had a violin in her hands since the time she could walk (truly!) and has been sharing her love of music ever since. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan before completing both her Master’s and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees at the University of Southern California. In 2010, Julia brought her artistry to the Spokane area, where she spent 11 years as Violin Professor at Eastern Washington University.

In 2021, she transitioned from academia to embrace independent opportunities, including a thriving private studio and performing in a wide variety of settings ranging from the Spokane Symphony, chamber opportunities, churches, and other special events. Having started playing weddings in high school, Julia has now performed at hundreds of events, bringing warmth, elegance, and professionalism to each one. She delights not only in the music itself but also in the thoughtful planning behind every occasion, ensuring each client’s event is a truly unique and customized experience.
